Hey readers. It's been a while once again lol. This time it really has been one thing after the other since I came back from seeing my family in Michigan. I finally had a chance to upload this new post for you guys :D. A couple months
ago, I had the opportunity to knock out 3 photoshoots in one week. My last 2 posts have included 2 of these shoots already (Brunch Vibes and Lets Get Healthy). This post will be including the final pictures from the 3 shoots week. I honestly enjoyed all of the photoshoots and had a blast with each and every one of them. Before I jump completely into the shoot. Head over to my YouTube channel or click the video below to check out behind the scenes video from all 3 shoots below.

The last 2 photoshoots focused on a specific theme, but in this post, I decided to do something completely different by dedicating it to my modeling. People always assume that with photoshoots you hop in front of a camera, take the picture, and boom there you go. That as long as it's by a professional photographer, that it will automatically turn out amazing. In reality, it's so much more than that. You are not only taking pictures, but you also have to decide on a theme, destination, looks, makeup, hair, prop options, facial expressions, and lastly poses. Let's just say that there's a whole lot that goes into a perfect photoshoot and each shoot is always completely different.

I always get asked why I model when it's not my actual "job". This post I think will finally explain this question I get asked so often. Surprisingly, the reason I got into modeling was that it’s always been something I’ve wanted to do. Yup, that's really it! haha. It's so funny to me because people always expect a fancy in-depth answer. Surprisingly, that's really it. The reason I model is that it’s what I’ve just always wanted to do. I don't really know why, but it just has been. I remember the first time I was speaking to a friend around middle school. I believe we were either in the 7th or 8th grade. I expressed that I wanted to model to her, showed her a picture of Brandy; the singer, who at the time was on a cover of a magazine. I showed my friend and said to her “Wow I want to take a picture like this and be on a magazine. Modeling looks fun”. The response my friend gave me was “you can’t do that, she’s way prettier and skinny” (mind you, I wasn’t big at all lol). Those words stuck to me and caused me to become a little scared and not entertaining the idea anymore. I felt like it was someone who knew me, so they must have been right. Then a couple months after that I’d start dressing up as soon as I got home, and asked my sister to take pictures of me with my parent's camera. Thinking of it now, it's clear that the idea never fully left me because we did this more than once and when I found out about the camera timer, I was taking so many pictures by myself.

How I officially started with taking professional pictures wasn't until I got to college. There was an event I attended where a random photographer came up and asked me to do a photo shoot. My face instantly lit up and of course, I couldn't turn down the opportunity. I was so excited. I started practicing poses and some faces. I picked out my clothing a couple weeks before that shoot and would just always practice in the clothing with my poses. During the photoshoot, I soon realized that modeling was a lot harder than it looked. Being home and taking pictures was completely different than being in front of a real photographer's camera and having to take shots that have to be somewhat decent. Anyway, let's just say I was not as confident as I thought I was or was even practicing to be. After that shoot, I personally didn't want to model ever again. It felt more awkward and harder than I expected. But the photographer convinced me to shoot again. When we did, he stated that I was more confident and was getting better than our first. It was at that moment that I realized I couldn't give it up. If modeling was going to be just as much of a hobby as anything else I was doing, then I had to take it more seriously. I had to keep working on it to become better and really practice because it definitely makes the pictures better. I had to practice the poses, faces, and even being more confident, (trust me confidence shows in your pictures). I made a decision that if modeling was going to be something that I wanted to do, giving up wasn't an option. For me modeling not only started as something so small and unserious. But it helped me understand early on in my life that I could do anything that I dreamed of doing. Whether or not others thought I could. If I keep practicing and not give up, there was always room for growth and improvement.

Lately, I give modeling a break every now and then. I feel like it's something that I love to do every now and then. But for me, I've gone as far as I ever could've imagined and gained so many friends, connections, and amazing pictures. I do some every now and then, but I don't shoot as much. I want to focus o mastering some other things in my life.

Modeling of course has so many perks to it, but it can have some not so good advantages as well.
I listed tons of those perks like connections, pictures, confidence, and so on. With modeling you can also get many free items, professional pictures, make so many positive connections, go to events, meet new people, get super cute, it's a confidence booster, get to be creative, it's super fun (especially once you get the hang of your angles, faces, and poses), gains your following, which can ultimately boost some other business ventures you may want to try and you can also travel with modeling. So far I've modeled in Lansing, Detroit, Kalamazoo, Dallas, Houston,  Miami, and Georgia. As stated it can also come with a lot of negativity, criticism, judgments as well. But just like everything else, you have to think about why you started something that your doing, why you love that thing, and keep reminding yourself that your not doing it for anyone but for yourself, then keep going.

The message and point for this post is just a little motivation. No matter what you want to do in this life, don’t let anyone talk you out of it, make you feel bad for it, or stop thinking that you can’t do it because of what others say. When you have your mind really set on what you want to do, just go for it. Come up with a plan and just get to it! A lot of people get so surprised when I say I'm a nurse that also models. Most don't really understand it. But who says that there is a limit to the things you can or can’t do in your life. I've always said that when I'm older, I don't want to regret trying anything that I wanted to try while in my life. Even if I just try it 1 time. To me, that goes with hobbies and anything else you choose to involve yourself with. If your able to do it, why not? We really have only 1 life to live, so you might as well do anything and try everything that you would like to. Modeling has been amazing and I plan to do it for as long as I can. Probably not as much as I used to, but I don't have plans on giving it up quite yet.

Anyway enough of my rambling hahaha. Rember to keep going, do what makes you happy, and don’t stop trying anything because of anyone's opinions. If it doesn’t work out, at least you know you gave it a shot. If it does, just have a little fun doing it. Hope you guys have an amazing rest of your week and don't forget to check out all 3 photoshoots behind the scenes video from these last three photoshoots and of course let me know what you think in the comments. Talk to you guys next time 😘❤️
